Cinematography blog analysis tasks

This image is from the show “How to get away with murder” and in this image there is an low angle as Annalise  the women is seem the one who has all the power over her dead husband Sam who is on the floor dead. This communicates with the audience as it shows us who is in charge and maybe be a suspect of this dead body.

In this clip is from how to get away with murder the last episode. In the opening it starts with POV which is franks(the shooters pov) then it shifts to medium close up into Bonnie’s face to show the suspense on her face expression.

Sound video feedback and learner response

 1) Type up your feedback from your teacher.

WWW:

- Description included

- Use of video and still images

- Very good editing

- Excellent contrapuntal which has a sense of unease and made it very powerful

EBI:

- fit the pictures in the frame.

2) Type up your feedback from fellow students - you can summarise key points if several students give you similar feedback.

WWW:
- Good contrapuntal
- Good use of parallel sound
- Videos and sound has a powerful effect
- Editing was amazing

EBI:
- fit the pictures in the frame.

3) Now reflect on your work and write your own evaluation of your video. Write a 'What went well' (WWW) paragraph and a paragraph for 'Even Better If' (EBI) underneath the rest of your feedback.

I think I have achieved this task as my parallel kinda matched my images and my contrapuntal part had an effect on the audience. I think I did a really good job with the editing. However, I could have made the editing in landscape rather than portraits.

4) Learner response: compare your own video against your evaluation of the top three videos in the class. Whose did you think was best and why? How could you have improved your own video?

I thought Tanisha's was the best as she managed to use happy images and colorful images which was very good. Her parallel matched perfectly and her contrapuntal had a effect on the audience. She has smooth transitions as well. I could had improved my video by possibly making my images contrast the music and make it fit in the frame.

5) Finally, what have you learned about the importance of sound to film and TV through this week's work?

I have learnt that sound is an incredible element of  film and TV as it can create a variety of meanings depending on the pictures making it have more meanings.

Cinematography video feedback and learner response

 1) Type up your feedback/comments from your teacher.

WWW:

-correct labelling

- range of shots

EBI:

avoid portrait mode

avoid repeating shots

vary presentating of shots.

2) Type up your feedback from fellow students.

www:
great editing
great effort
good labelling
nice music

ebi:
film in landscape.

3) Now reflect on your work and write your own summary of the comments and feedback you have received. Write three WWWs and three EBIs.

www:
good labelling
one minute video
good effort

ebi:
film in landscape
avoid adding pictures
edit probably

4) Learner response: think about what you learned about cinematography making the video and also watching others. What will you do differently when you start the coursework in the summer? What tips or tricks have you learned from others that you can use next time? Are there any specific aspects of camerawork that you need to revise or practice?

i would learn how to edit and be more creative and learn how to film probably and film it in landscape rather than filming in portrait.

Cinematography practical task

The camerawork give the audience clues about the setting as mostly some of the videos and pictures are taken near the school such as the purple building and the gate.
